Refund Policy

1. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

SokoSauti (legal entity: SokoSauti) offers a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first billing cycle of any paid subscription. If you are not satisfied within 7 days of your initial paid charge, contact us and we will issue a full refund of that first charge.

The 7-day window applies to the first paid subscription charge only. Renewals, plan changes, credit top-ups, and one-time purchases are non-refundable once delivered, except as required by applicable law.

2. Payment Processor

Payments on SokoSauti are processed by Paystack (a Stripe company). SokoSauti is the seller of record and is responsible for fulfilling all refund requests. Paystack processes the actual card, bank, M-Pesa, USSD, and mobile-money payment on our behalf and returns refunds to the original payment method when we instruct it to.

We accept payments in Kenyan Shilling (KES), Nigerian Naira (NGN), Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) and US Dollar (USD). The currency you paid in is the currency you will be refunded in. Foreign-exchange differences caused by your bank are not refundable.

3. How to Request a Refund

Email wambani@sokosauti.com from the same address you used to sign up, and include:

• Your account email.
• The Paystack reference shown on your receipt (starts with a letter / number string).
• The amount and date of the charge.
• A short reason for the request (helps us improve the product).

Approved refunds are submitted to Paystack within 1 business day. Funds typically return to your card, bank, or mobile-money wallet within 5–10 business days, depending on your provider.

4. Subscription Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Dashboard → Subscription → Manage Subscription, which opens your Paystack-secured billing portal. Upon cancellation:

• You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
• You will not be charged for subsequent billing cycles.
• If you cancel within the 7-day window of the very first paid charge, you remain eligible for a full refund of that charge.

5. Consumed Credits and Usage-Based Charges

AI credits, SMS credits, video generations, and other usage-based deliverables are consumed in real time. Once consumed, those units are non-refundable. For first-cycle refund requests, we may deduct the fair value of the credits already used from the refund amount.

6. Pi Network Payments — Automatic On-Chain Refunds

Subscriptions and credit top-ups paid in Pi (π) are held by a smart contract on the Pi Network blockchain, not by SokoSauti. When you cancel and request a refund from your billing page, the contract opens a claim and gives the SokoSauti team 14 days to review and approve it.

• If we approve within 14 days, the contract pays you immediately.
• If we do not respond within 14 days, the refund settles automatically. The contract reads the credits you actually consumed on your plan, keeps only that portion, and returns the rest to your Pi wallet. No approval from us is required, and we cannot block or delay it.
• The refundable amount is calculated as amount paid × (credits granted − credits used) ÷ credits granted, computed separately for plan credits and for top-up packs. Unused top-up credits are always refunded in full proportion.
• No platform fee is charged on a refund. Refunds are paid to the same Pi wallet that funded the purchase.

Pi payments currently run on Pi Testnet while the integration is under test. Mainnet π settlement will follow the same rules.

7. Failed Payments and Chargebacks

If a renewal payment fails, your account is placed in read-only mode and we email you to update your card via the Paystack billing portal. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting wambani@sokosauti.com may lead to suspension of your account pending dispute resolution.
